How to safely remove your FlutterHabit® lashes
If you’re reading this, the time has probably come for you to say “bye for now” to your current set of FlutterHabit lashes. Or, perhaps you’re like us and want to know the whole process before you even put on your first pair. Whatever point you’re at in the “becoming obsessed with FlutterHabit lashes and never looking back” stage (trust us, we get it) you’re in the right place to learn everything there is to know about how to remove your lashes safely, easily, and in no time at all.
Lash health
Before we get into the removal process, let’s chat a little bit about your natural lashes. While we often focus on their visual appeal, they serve as a form of protection for our eyes. They catch dust and debris that might otherwise make its way into the eye, causing irritation or damage. Eyelashes, just like hair in other areas of our body, emerge from a follicle and have a structure and life cycle. Maintaining their integrity is an important part of eye health.
Additionally, your natural lashes are how our “under the eyelash” application works. At FlutterHabit, the health of your lash is incredibly important to us. We developed each of our products with your lash and eye health in mind, taking into consideration things like lash weight, ingredients, adhesive strength, and more. In order to keep your natural lashes healthy and thriving, it is important to have patience with the removal process and follow the simple removal instructions. Keep reading for a step-by-step breakdown on how to safely and easily remove your FlutterHabit lashes.
What you’ll need:
- Warm water
- Lash Removal Balm
- Clean hands
- Patience
Step 1
Be sure to wet your lashes entirely. You really want to soak them through. This can be done when washing your face, in the shower, or just by splashing the eye area thoroughly. Warm water is recommended, as warm as is comfortable and safe for your eyes, as it will help to soften the Made For This® Adhesive.
Step 2
Using the Lash Removal Balm, saturate the lashes from the top and the bottom, ensuring that the whole area is soaked in remover. A little goes a long way here. You want to use enough product that the lashes are coated, but not so much that you’re getting remover in your eye.
Step 3
Allow the water and remover to sit on the lashes for a few minutes, at least 1-2. This will continue to help soften the adhesive and prepare the lashes for easy removal.
Step 4
After the remover has soaked on the lashes for a few minutes, wet your fingertips and gently begin to rub your lashes in an up and down motion. This part is important! A gentle up and down motion is the best way to encourage your lashes to slide off as they’re ready without adding additional stress to your natural lashes. Avoid side-to-side motions that can twist and stress the lashes. Be sure to NEVER pull or tug on the lashes.
If your lashes aren’t sliding off easily just yet don’t fret! The adhesive may need a bit more time to soften. Repeat steps 1-4 as many times as necessary to remove your FlutterHabit lashes and reveal your healthy, natural lashes.
Step 5
Prepare to reapply. You didn’t think we were going to let you go that easily did you? When applied the right way, cared for, and removed correctly, applying a new set of FlutterHabit lashes right after removal is 100% safe. Our boxes come with 6 pairs each making it a no-brainer for these to be a regular part of your self-care practice or beauty routine.
Use warm water and an eye-safe, gel, or foaming cleanser to thoroughly clean your lashes and eye area. You want to be sure you’ve effectively removed all traces of oil from your lashes and eye area. Gently pat your eyes and lashes dry. Once your lashes have dried completely, you’re ready to reapply! Don’t forget, subscribers are safe from out of stocks and they save money on each box. You can easily manage your subscription, change your style, cancel at any time, and even decide how frequently you’d like your subscription to run. If FlutterHabit is a regular part of your routine, make sure you subscribe, save, and enjoy FlutterHabit all month long!
